A mechatronics technician is a mechanic, electronics technician and computer scientist all rolled into one. This shows how diverse this profession is. During your training, you will assemble mechanical, electrical and electronic components into a complex system and program the control software. And if something breaks down? No problem - regular maintenance and servicing is also your responsibility.

Your tasks

  • Application of basic mechanical skills, e.g. filing, milling, turning and drilling
  • Planning and controlling work processes for efficient production
  • Analyzing and rectifying faults in electrical, mechanical or control systems
  • Programming and commissioning mechatronic systems to automate processes
  • Maintenance and servicing of production systems to minimize downtimes
  • Assembling and installing mechanical, electrical and electronic components to create complex systems, e.g. machines, production systems or robots
  • Monitoring and optimization of manufacturing processes to increase productivity
