A mechatronics technician is a mechanic, electronics technician and computer scientist all rolled into one. This shows how diverse this profession is. During your training, you will assemble mechanical, electrical and electronic components into a complex system and program the control software. And if something breaks down? No problem - regular maintenance and servicing is also your responsibility.
Your tasks
- Application of basic mechanical skills, e.g. filing, milling, turning and drilling
- Planning and controlling work processes for efficient production
- Analyzing and rectifying faults in electrical, mechanical or control systems
- Programming and commissioning mechatronic systems to automate processes
- Maintenance and servicing of production systems to minimize downtimes
- Assembling and installing mechanical, electrical and electronic components to create complex systems, e.g. machines, production systems or robots
- Monitoring and optimization of manufacturing processes to increase productivity
