RAPA mourns the loss of Prof. Dr. Clemens Schmitz-Justen

With his extensive experience, deep knowledge of the automotive industry and entrepreneurial foresight, he was an important voice within our company. Prof. Dr. Schmitz-Justen spent nearly two decades in various leadership positions at BMW in Germany, the United Kingdom, South Africa and the United States, where he headed the Spartanburg plant.
His connection with RAPA began with the establishment of our site in Auburn, Alabama. Drawing on his knowledge of the U.S. market and his extensive network, he supported RAPA in taking this important step into the United States. Later, as a member of the Supervisory Board, he played an active role in shaping the RAPA Group’s strategic development. His ability to bring people and different perspectives together was one of the qualities that particularly distinguished him.
Over the years, our professional relationship grew into a close personal bond. Clemens Schmitz-Justen became a good friend of the Pausch family and formed close personal relationships with many people at RAPA. He was part of the RAPA family.
In Clemens Schmitz-Justen, we have lost someone who helped shape RAPA’s development over many years. We will miss his experience and foresight – but above all, we will miss Clemens Schmitz-Justen himself.
Our deepest sympathies go to his family and loved ones.
We will remember Clemens with gratitude.
